Granite Farming secrets
Hey there. I thought it might be time I shared this secret I use to farm with, so here goes. Areas to farm: Prophet's Path, Vulture Drifts.(start at Hero's Audience and clear all the elementals)
Encrusted Lodestones salvage for 5-7 granite each.
I'll keep it short so people will read it.
Asuran Scan lets you hit mobs while blind. You can use AoE skills and hit all surrounding mobs as long as 1 is scanned.
Hero's Audience, and Vulture Drifts is where I farm. Blunt or Lightning is best.
Here's some builds you can use or alter.
OQMU0KHGZaSyDzDgEpFvl+E7gqiA W/M using Jitte and +10 Armor vs Earth
OQMT4wITVSe4qgm8tkvynYH8vCA W/M spam variation
OQMU0KHGZaSyDzDgEpFvl+EnimiA W/M HM version
OQMU0KHG5ZSyDgEpF+EvlhF7gqiA W/M Hammer variation
OgGjkyrKLSfbXg7gsXrXdbvl0kA D/W Shocking Scythe Variation
Owpj8NjcKTQXDYvlDQ1g6P3luMA A/D Shocking Daggers Variation
The trick is to prevent being knocked down, apply Asuran Scan to 1 target, and AoE the surrounding Elementals, bosses included. Keep your HP up and it's easy. Jade Scarabs are the only real problem in either zone because they strip enchantments. Just re apply them while fighting.
I use a Jitte with +5 armor, a shield with -2 stance and +10 vs Earth
Lightning damage works well if you can't get a Jitte. The Jade Mandables you get on drops you can use to get the +15 enchanted sword from collector and add shock and +5 armor to it for cheap.
Feel free to hit me up in game for any questions. Enjoy salvaging that granite and making good money.

You only farm granite from one place ?
And theres no secret to granite farming - wiki tells all.
But heres more spots (even tho its been covered many times before )
Stone kirin in kurz lands - drop either granite or salv their horns for granite.
Hulks outside ascalon , any of the stone elemental foes in kourna/vabbi/desolation.
Thats just a few named , im not going to bother with builds - kirin and hulks can be easily solo`d in hm.If search is used ( specially with granite ) builds and info can be found.

No i wasn't doing this post to say this is the only spot, I just wanted to let people know that Asuran Scan bypasses blind, and allows you to farm granite easily in spots that aren't normally farmed due to blindness, that's all. It's just a trick for farming the encrusted lodestones solo easily, and I wanted to share it to help out anyone that might not know of it, which as far as I can tell is next to nobody. Hope it helps.

For outsiders eye like me: What Spiritz said, that sounded so rude.
Thanks for sharing Mega Storm.

Spiritz is completely right. Anyways, you can avoid the need for Asuran Scan by using a caster instead of trying to use melee.

While Spritz may be right and his information accurate, he could have been more tactful with his response. In my experience, using the "Search" function generally brings up posts pertaining to buying and selling.
To the OP, thank you for sharing your information.

It's quite simple to exclude Ventari's from being searched.

And beginners to the trade can even salvage them from scorched and enchanted ones in pre/post Ascalon. You don't need a special build either and can do it alone. Ten uses from one salvage kit can easily buy you three or four more kits.

It's been the place I always farmed Granite from anyway, though as others have suggested; Generally speaking I'll do it with a caster. I'm aware Asuran Scan can handle blind, but it's mostly fathing about which isn't really what you want for a simple farm (Sight Beyond Sight is another option also; Though is equally extra fathing around).
And whether it's more profitable for Granite farming than Ascalon is debatable anyway; The groups in Ascalon are more closely packed together; It's true you don't have to deal with the Scarabs (or the odd Sand Wurm) in Ascalon (though Devourer's are just as annoying in both locations), but from what I've seen the mobs in the Desert don't drop plain old stacks of Granite half as much as the ones do in Ascalon; Meaning most of it will be through salvaging the collectible drops (the opposite of Ascalon, were the collectible drops only give a single slab).
Overall I'd say the desert spot is more difficult, but also more consistant in amount of Granite gained...though in the long term I wouldn't say it's really that much greater or faster than Ascalon. Just more reliable.

Search i`ll admit can be confusing as theres 2 search options , 1 is basically whole forum search or the other is search forum but thats only usable when viewing the category - eg farming section.Oops make that 3 as search thread is there as well.
Didnt mean to sound offish , it gets a bit hectic when threads appear asking or giving info on topics that have been covered many times and that also gives a harder time when searching for info.
I still find granite easier from stone kirins in kurz lands , infact a fav spot is pongmei valley which can also be used same time for chests.

I used to do the SS/ LB farm in Sulphourous wastes to max the titles (before the VQ bonus made SS so easy) and therefore get loads of Inscribed Shards off the Graven Monoliths which salvaged to about 6 per Shard IIRC

The quest show of force ( i think its the one ) with the monliths in the temple used to be a gd farm before the change to sf , you could run in and activate several of the "shrines" and then sliver them to death.
Back then the only dmg was from mystic twister off the margonite dervs - i wonder if its still possible to solo it or have a bonder ... i may look into that and see if its possible again.

Never liked Pongmei much for it myself; I guess because there really isn't that many Kirin there, and I like to avoid rezoning as much as possible. Does rezoning in the same place multiple times still reduce the amount of drops you get? I've always been stuck in the mindset that it does.

The drop rate of Shards from Monoliths is pretty terrible though; The ones I get I'd rather save for Gift of the Traveller or that silly quest where you have to get eight of them (pointless quest but I'm a completionist) for minimum reward, so I tend not like salvaging them.

1. Rezoning the same instance doesn't reduce drops anymore. There is some speculation that drops are reduced upon entering an instance for the first minute or two.
2. Monoliths drop their shards pretty frequently, but the rate of kill and/or loot scaling can eat them up. Spirit spam can solo the Monoliths in the temple in Sulfurous Wastes, and a spirit duo could probably speed it up considerably.

I came up with a fairly decent build for farming sand elementals while hunting encrusted lodestones for 20/20 earth scrolls for all my earth ele heroes.
OgVCkMz0XVpgqzSQqjrANZqA
Essentially: use "I am unstoppable!" while rounding them up, then once you've aggroed enough , cast ward of stability. Then arcane echo>shockwave>shockwave>aftershock. Maintain armor of earth and stoneflesh so you don't die (obviously).
The only downside is, you're almost guaranteed to die if a jade scarab pops up, but 2 shockwaves and an aftershock is enough to drop a group of elementals in NM.

So what is the build you are using for Pongmei? Could a spirit spammer do the trick?
